Does Hollywood know no bounds?..

If one thing is certain, game to movie adaptations never really work. There are a few mild exceptions, the original Mortal Kombat film was quite close to the game world it was based upon and with its techno fuelled soundtrack was quite enjoyable upon its release. Lets face it though, game to movie adaptations don't work, especially movies based on the beat 'em up genre.

Just look at the history of bad beat 'em up films. Street Fighter - The Movie, Mortal Kombat Conquest and Dead or Alive were all terrible films. So bad that they strayed away hugely from the original source material. So what makes any one think a film based on Tekken is going to be any better?

Well nobody that I can think of, but if you want to put your names down in the comments section in some kind of ritual self acceptance that you enjoy bad movies, fine please do. However someone made a wise choice by casting Kill Bill's Chiaki Kuriyama, who played Gogo Yubari in that film as Ling Xiaoyu in the Tekken movie.

Certainly on the list of 'woulds' in my list of unobtainable women. You can dream though and her inclusion may currently be the sole reason for watching the Tekken movie. I'll update you if any more reasons come up, but please don't hold your breath on my account. You will die.
