Although there have been numerous unfavourable reviews, it would seem that Alone in the Dark is doing pretty well in the charts. According to Atari's own press release they are number 1 in both the UK and Germany on the Xbox sales chart. Overall it would seem they didn't reach the top spot for the UK all format chart.
Atari's fears and possibly heavy handed attempts to get those negative reviews removed were probably unnecessary in the first place.
